SharePoint Hyperlink or Picture column

URL + display label pair. Distinct write shape from the plain Text column.

The Hyperlink or Picture column stores a URL plus a separate display label. Binds to Hyperlink.

Both Url and Description are required; SP will reject the call if either is missing.

Edge cases

  • Picture vs Hyperlink, Same column type; the difference is purely how SP renders it in list views (as an image vs as a link). The form treats them identically.
