SharePoint Currency column

Money values with a currency code set on the column. Binds to the Currency field.

The Currency column stores money values. The column-level currency code (USD, EUR, AUD, etc.) drives the symbol shown in list views and inherits to the

Currency field.

Write shape

Plain JS number, never a string with a currency symbol. The display of the symbol is the form's job; the stored value is unitless.

Edge cases

  • Rounding, to two decimal places on save, even if the user typed three.
  • Mismatched currency, if your form needs to capture amounts in multiple currencies, use a Number column + a sibling Choice for the currency code, not Currency.
